This is the one anime I watch that I never skip the OP and ED music! As such, I noticed last week the gun was missing from in front of the snow globe at the end but this week it's back. I'm sure there's some sort of significance to that but I have no idea what it is.

14:01 In both OVA and DNT, i liked Leopold Schumacher perspective on reinhard new reform, he expect an quick grab and go, but seeing how the people been more happy and free, he began to show more distrust on the Fezzani for trying to do the opposite, but still do it for his subordinate which pretty much held hostage by Fezzan higher ups.

How can people not love this anime I'm always worried when i see how little comments there are. I hope this doesnt get discontinued due to low popularity. This is such an amazing n beautiful anime.

As for that anime, the issue is that while the original is long and often tedious

(like for Overlord, lot of fancy expressions making 5minutes long sentences to say a little thing -but in the original, it was to reproduce Imperial Prussian society so it couldn't be avoided as part of decorum and that series shortened those sentences as much as possible)

lot of scenes here lack explications from the many protagonists actions and thoughts we had in the original (hence the 110 episodes...), the battles are great to watch (like Amazon LOTR...) but the substance is little (since so much cut from the original

you can't really understand much from the battle screen unlike in the original (except times when there is an obvious formation bloc moving forward on the battle screen -I don't remember if the original did the same, but no matter how stealthy their ships are, how can they suddenly pop on radar while being so close to enemy ships ? are they suddenly warping -on a battlefield close to enemy fleet... ?- or their radars are just bad to detect anything unless the scenario demands it ? -to make cool looking encirclements out of nowhere)

(and the jamming, how does that work ? either they just can't do long range communication but can do short range to ships in proximity only -but not to the whole fleet that way-, either they are jammed but still able to communicate to the whole fleet)

and there is a lack of ships. (apparently, they only produce 1ship model for each class of ships for centuries (with upgrades but strangely, they all look the same way, so did they scrap 100thousands of old ships every decade to rebuild 100thousands more of the most modern ship class to be sure they all look the same way, to make it look cooler, more uniform fleet ?) while there was several ships models&class of ships in the original)

It is a great anime to watch but only : as a modern abridged version, not as the original with better graphisms and shorter speechs. (and famous current seiyuus)

I still love it but it can't compare with the original. (except for the reduced numbers of episodes of course)

Cus alot of people who watch the classic doesn't like DNT, some are very vocal about it.
This is not those baseless "oh people doesn't grow up and accept new thing" excuses, just that they have higher standard and expect DNT to deliver or surpass the old standard but DNT didn't deliver.
Long and unpopular opinion:
i personally don't mind the character design. (sometimes it took me awhile to remember the face because half of the time they look too alike)
one of the biggest problem i have is the inconsistency when comes to space battle, sure they're really fun to watch, but that's only when i turn my brain off, not only the pacing can be all over the place and show sign of lazy by reusing the same cut, copy-n-paste fleet and the recent still image, the battle diagram is also pretty crap, not only it failed to give us consistent information of the scale, but each seasons it change the interface whenever they feel like it, there's no standardize like the classic and the manga.
Second tho minor, is the show lacks ship diversity, DNT only have supply ship, destroyers, cruiser and battleship of the same era, classic have all sort of ship class, from different time they build, roles and doctrine.
despite all this, i still hope they finished DNT, since they deserved some fairness. (plus they can still fix the problems and make it better.)

(just a reminder : no matter how we critise an anime or anything on some illegal website, so long as Japanese people are happy with it, it will stay the same way -maybe export version get changes depending on the importing country (each a different version) but the Japanese version won't be changed for foreigners)

Indeed what Fezzan did will have an extreme leverage, upper hand once they managed to execute their plans accordingly.
On the other hand, they're putting lots of risk, something that could tarnished their image since they are not even a standing nation, in face just an autonomy to maintain their status.
Reinhard sees this opportunity by letting surveillance on the 2 fugitives so that he could used them as stepping stones to conquer Fezzan once the plan is made into public & who were the perpetrators of Emperor Erwin's abductions
